I draw inspiration from the natural world, often exploring the Norfolk Coast through photography, observation, and beach-combing. These quiet interactions with the landscape invite me to slow down, look up, and notice the subtleties of my surroundings. I capture these moments in sketchbooks using pencil and ink, creating a visual journal that informs my textile work.
Working with merino wool, I use both wet and needle felting techniques, embracing the natural shrinkage and organic textures that emerge from the fibres. The felt may remain flat or evolve into sculptural forms. Each piece is then refined through detailed needle felting, resulting in tactile wall art and sculptural vessels that echo the rhythms and forms of the ocean.
